Jonathan Edwards plays a rare electronic percussion instrument called a ZenDrum along with soprano and tenor saxophones. He calls his music “sonic alchemy”.

Jonathan’s music has been described as the exoticism of world music/new age with a little spice of modern jazz.

The ZenDrum is the world's most sophisticated MIDI percussion trigger.  Using the ZenDrum, Jonathan performs his own distinctive style of improvisational poly-ethnic jazz.  Jonathan has impressed audiences in a multitude of venues ranging from night clubs and coffee houses to universities.  In the course of a performance, Jonathan can move from funk to gamelan to salsa.  No two performances are alike.

Jonathan's work in the ZenDrum is influenced by jazz greats and ethnic musicians who have worked together to create world-fusion music.  Jonathan believes that the development of improvisational poly-ethnic music is integral to the health and well-being of the rapidly emerging global community.
